The wafer butterfly valve operates using a disc-shaped closure element that rotates 90 degrees around a central stem to open or close the flow path. When the valve is fully open, the disc is aligned parallel to the flow direction, creating minimal pressure drop and allowing maximum flow capacity. As the disc rotates toward the closed position, it gradually restricts the flow until it seats tightly against the valve body seal, providing a bubble-tight shutoff.
The manual operation is achieved through a lever handle for smaller sizes or a worm gear actuator for larger diameters, allowing for precise flow control. The wafer design enables the valve to be sandwiched between two pipeline flanges, eliminating the need for separate valve flanges and reducing overall installation weight and cost.
Compact and Lightweight: The wafer design significantly reduces valve size and weight compared to traditional gate or globe valves, making installation and maintenance easier
Excellent Flow Characteristics: The streamlined disc design provides low pressure drop and high flow capacity, improving system efficiency
Bubble-Tight Sealing: High-quality seat materials ensure reliable shutoff with zero leakage, preventing fluid loss and system contamination
Quick Operation: 90-degree rotation allows for fast opening and closing, reducing response time in emergency situations
Robust Cast Iron Body: Provides excellent strength and corrosion resistance for long service life in water and general industrial applications
Corrosion-Resistant Trim: Stainless steel disc and stem options offer enhanced durability in corrosive environments
Low Maintenance Requirements: Simple design with fewer moving parts minimizes maintenance needs and reduces downtime
Versatile Compatibility: Compatible with a wide range of fluids including water, oil, gas, and various chemicals

We offer comprehensive customization options to meet your specific application needs, including different body materials, seal materials, and actuation methods. All our valves undergo strict testing in accordance with international standards to ensure reliable performance and long service life. Our dedicated technical support team provides expert assistance from product selection to after-sales service, ensuring you get the right solution for your project.
The maximum operating temperature depends on the seat material selected. NBR seats are suitable for temperatures up to 80°C, EPDM seats up to 120°C, and PTFE seats up to 180°C.
Yes, our wafer butterfly valves are designed for both on-off service and throttling applications. The 90-degree rotation allows for precise flow regulation across the entire operating range.
Wafer type valves are sandwiched between two pipeline flanges using through-bolts, while lug type valves have threaded lugs that allow for installation using stud bolts, making them suitable for dead-end service where one side of the pipeline may need to be disconnected.
Yes, we offer valves with NSF-approved materials for potable water applications. Please specify your requirements when placing your order.
In addition to manual operation with lever handle or worm gear, we can supply these valves with pneumatic, electric, or signal actuators for automated control systems.
