The ex-proof electric ball valve operates by using an electric actuator to rotate a spherical ball with a through-hole. When the ball is rotated 90 degrees, the through-hole aligns with the pipeline, allowing full flow of the medium. Rotating the ball another 90 degrees completely blocks the flow, providing a tight shut-off.
