Tank Bottom Ball Valve for Complete and Efficient Vessel Discharge
Improve media discharge from reactors, tanks, vessels and process containers with a tank bottom ball valve engineered around the outlet of your equipment.
PIONEER flush bottom ball valves combine a close-mounted inlet, smooth flow path and flexible connection options to help reduce material accumulation at the tank outlet. Manual, pneumatic and electric operation can be selected according to your process and automation requirements.
Flush Bottom Ball Valves Built Around Your Process
A conventional pipeline valve may leave additional space between the tank outlet and the valve closure. In batch processing, this space can allow process media to remain near the outlet after discharge.
A PIONEER tank mounted flush bottom ball valve is designed for installation at the lowest discharge point of a reactor, tank or vessel. Its specially designed inlet flange can be welded or mounted close to the equipment bottom, while the smooth tapered passage supports direct and unobstructed discharge.
This configuration is particularly valuable when the process involves viscous media, suspended particles, frequent batch changes or a requirement to reduce material retention around the outlet.
Why Use a Tank Bottom Ball Valve?
Reduced Media Accumulation
The short distance between the valve ball and the tank bottom helps reduce the space in which process media can collect. A smooth tapered inlet supports more efficient movement from the vessel into the downstream line.
Efficient Bottom Discharge
When the valve is open, the ball bore aligns with the discharge path to create a direct flow passage. This supports the emptying of reactors, storage tanks and process vessels through their lowest outlet.
Accessible Inclined-Stem Design
An inclined stem places the operating mechanism away from the immediate bottom of the tank. This can make manual operation, actuator installation and maintenance access more practical where space around the vessel outlet is limited.
Direct Actuator Mounting
Selected configurations use an ISO 5211 direct mounting platform. Pneumatic or electric actuators can be installed without a complex external bracket arrangement, supporting accurate alignment and simplified automation.
Flexible Connection Options
Available product configurations include flange, thread, welding, tri-clamp and quick-coupling connections. The valve-to-tank and valve-to-pipeline interfaces can be selected around the equipment design and project standard.
Options for Challenging Media
Depending on the process, the valve can be configured with cavity fillers, purge ports, heating jackets, extended stems or alternative seat materials. Final selection should be based on the medium, temperature, pressure and cleaning requirements.

Available Tank Bottom Valve Configurations
Inclined-Stem Tank Bottom Ball Valve
Designed to improve access to the operating stem and actuator when the available space directly beneath the tank is restricted.
Pneumatic Tank Bottom Ball Valve
Suitable for automated discharge sequences, remote operation and integration into process control systems.
Stem-Extension Bottom Discharge Valve
Extends the operating position away from the vessel outlet and can support installations where equipment geometry limits access.
Welded Flush Bottom Ball Valve
Provides a direct welded connection at the tank or reactor outlet for a compact, close-mounted arrangement.
Tri-Clamp and Quick-Coupling Valve
Supports applications where a removable connection is preferred for installation, inspection or process equipment servicing.
Cavity-Filler or Jacketed Configuration
Optional cavity-filler structures help reduce internal media retention, while heating-jacket options can support media that requires temperature maintenance.
